Yes, I know, My name is Pete and I live in Petersfield. You couldn't make it up.
After living in Petersfield for most of my life, I moved away for a few years. But I couldn't keep away so I have returned to my home town and I am pleased to say I am offering driving lessons in Petersfield and the surrounding areas. You will find my approach calm, supportive, detailed and thorough.
My first introduction to becoming a driving instructor was when I taught my two eldest daughters to drive and pass their driving tests a number of years ago. Following this, I decided to become a driving instructor full time and I thoroughly enjoy my role.
Having lived locally for some 40 years you can rest assured that I am familiar with the local roads that can be challenging for new drivers and I will help you to understand and safely negotiate and drive on those roads.
Should you need it, I will also help you with your theory test, when we commence your driving lessons.
Maybe you are a full licence holder and just need a little confidence building. With that in mind, I am also offering 'Refresher Driving Lessons'
Possibly you have had a time away from driving, not driven in the UK for a while or simply need to get to grips with a new car. I can carry out refresher driving lessons in my dual-controlled car or your own car.
You will find that I am a strong advocate for teaching "Safe Driving For Life" as safety on our busy road network is all important.

I have some availability for weekends and evenings as I understand that it is not always possible to take lessons during the working week.

After learning the basics with a family member, I began lessons with him and passed both my theory and practical test first time. Before my practical test, we practised test routes frequently and also visited the test centre which definitely helped with easing nerves. We also did a few lessons after passing to make sure I was comfortable in my car which helped me get on the roads confidently and independently, and have now completed 600 miles a month after passing.

Pete helped me pass my UK driving test in June 2024. I got my first driving test in Malaysia, which was far from as rigorous as the UK’s, hence my need to learn and pass the UK one (and get rid of old bad habits and some incorrect understanding).
Pete is always super punctual, friendly, and has a simple and effective way of explaining the rules. He got me to get rid of some old habits (e.g. cross hands when turning), and helped me really understand the working of roadabouts.
Overall it was really fortunate for me that Pete has time to support me!
